Furniture & Rooms Size advisor

TV Size Advisor

Estimate a practical TV size starting point from viewing distance and room use.

How this tool works

Estimate a TV size that fits a room and viewing distance. CasaLabs calculators keep assumptions visible, use source-backed formulas, and avoid storing personal information.

How to use it

  1. Enter your usual viewing distance in feet.
  2. Use the recommendation as an approximate comfort starting point.
  3. Narrow the choice by wall space, stand width, and budget.

Formula

Recommended diagonal size ≈ viewing distance in inches ÷ 2, then rounded to a nearby common TV size.

Example

At a 10 ft viewing distance, Samsung’s starting-point formula gives 120 inches ÷ 2 = about a 60 inch TV before considering wall space, resolution, and preference.
